What is the pelvic exam?

Definition
The pelvic exam, also called gynecological, is a physical exam of the reproductive organs of women. This test is part of regular gynecologic recognition, and aims to detect anomalies or disturbances in the vagina, uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes. Regular pelvic examinations are important after the start of sexual life.
The pelvic examination can usually be done in the doctor’s office. He tells the patient discovered the waist down and lie on the examination table. Before beginning the exploration of the internal organs, the doctor inspects the external genital organs: vulva, labia and clitoris to check that no damage or deterioration.
Radiation Therapy

It is mainly applied in a number of treatment sessions per day Monday through Friday, leaving the patient to rest on weekends and holidays. Although the duration of each session depends on each case and the time of different machines, usually last for two to six weeks. The sessions usually last about 20 minutes in which the patient stays in the room only to prevent radiation from spreading. We need to stay calm and not move, so that the radioactivity is directed precisely to the area being treated. At all times be supervised by a CCTV and there is always someone listening outside the room, so if you have a problem you can report it immediately.
The rationale for radiation therapy sessions is to give more time to recover healthy cells and cause the least damage possible. The number of cycles you receive depends on many factors including overall health status, location and the stage where the tumor is and whether it had received another treatment such as chemotherapy or surgery. In fact, certain tumors require more than one meeting per day to increase efficiency and reduce the maximum potential side effects.
