Baseball and summer are perfect together. The leisurely pace of baseball goes so well with the desire to sit and slow down during the summer. You can relax and savor a game as it unfolds or become engrossed in your team’s march through the season or a developing pennant race. Now with directv and all of the various ways there are to follow baseball it is better than ever before.

I live in New York and I like both the Mets and Yankees. Each team has its own station, the Mets are on SNY and the Yankees are on YES.

Not only do I get to see all of their games, but there are pre and post game shows, manager interview shows, encore showing of games, team magazine shows and highlight shows. For a fan it’s the greatest thing ever; the only way to follow your team. And if your team happens to not be playing that day but you want to see a game you can almost always find one with satellite, you can see just about any game anywhere.

There are the superstations like TBS carrying the Braves, one of the other regional sports network like Fox Sports or NESN plus the games carried on ESPN and MLB Network.

MLB Network is another version of heaven for the baseball fan. They have 24 hours baseball programming that gives all the latest news and trade rumors, classic games and highlight shows. There has never been a better time to be a baseball fan.
